ERASMUS+ FUNDED EXCHANGE PROGRAM BETWEEN NDU AND UOC

Within the framework of the European Union’s Erasmus+ program to support education, training, youth, and sport, a faculty exchange program between instructors in the Faculty of Humanities (FH) at Notre Dame University-Louaize (NDU) and instructors at Ovidius University of Constanta (UOC), Romania, was recently instituted.

NDU President Fr. Pierre Najem hosted the Dean of Theology at UOC Fr. Dumitru Dănuț Popovici and Professor at UOC Ioan Dura, during their week-long stay in Lebanon between April 22 and  27, 2018,  to wish them well and to assure them of NDU’s keen interest in eastern theology.

The UOC is a Romanian public higher education institution, which has study programs in theology and arts, medical and natural sciences, humanities and engineering, social and economic sciences, law and administrative sciences. The university offers nationally and internationally accredited programs at all three levels of study: bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees.

Throughout this exchange program, FH instructors can exchange expertise with their counterparts in the disciplines of theology and religion, augment faculty development (training and teaching), and launch discussions to better understand the different cultural beliefs between western theology and eastern theology.
