ENABLE THE ENTREPRENEUR IN YOU

Notre Dame University-Louaize Shouf Campus (NDU-SC) Faculty of Business Administration and Economics (FBAE) and the Aie Club were pleased to organize on Wednesday November 7, 2018 a workshop on the Entrepreneurial mindset and decision-making tools entitled, “Enable the Entrepreneur in YOU.”

Founder of Alephpreneur in Sydney Australia and Guest speaker Carole Issa is an Extended DISC® consultant, a certified Meta Dynamics™ coach, and holds an Executive MBA degree. Carole coaches and mentors entrepreneurs who want to go from idea to launching a successful business. She also trains business owners and high performing teams nationally and internationally in intrapreneurship and team effectiveness.

Issa began the workshop by distinguishing four styles of entrepreneurs (The warrior, the charmer, the technician, the nurturer) explaining the differences between each types, their leading energy, their attitudes towards challenges and opportunities and how they act differently even when exposed to the same circumstances.  According to Mrs. Carole, each person is a combination of these four styles yet tends to have a natural inclination towards one and would resort to it whenever he/she is about make a decision or take an action. For this reason, it’s crucial for a person to embark in a deep journey to understand his/her leading style to be able to capitalize on his/her strengths and work on his/her stretches. After the discussion, students and other participants completed an online test entitled 'What type of entrepreneur you are' designed to help them understand themselves and their leading style.

The second part of the workshop was dedicated to the concept of Fear which Mrs. Carole classifies as the number one obstacle that prevents a person from pursuing new opportunities or facing challenges and become an entrepreneur. Moreover, She explained how the sources of fear may vary from fear of acceptance to fear of success and how the ego reacts differently to each type.

Lastly, Carole concluded the workshop with a practical tool for decision making: The 4 ways of thinking, which provides clear criteria to evaluate any action or situation and understand its impact on the personal development and the professional journey. Mrs. Carole reminded the attendees that the answers they’re seeking lie within, all that they need to do is to dig deep in to enable to entrepreneur in them.

Faculty members and students from various faculties attended the workshop. The audience was delighted by Carole’s coaching style and highly interactive workshop and provided a very positive feedback.
