The Department of Sciences at the Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences (FNAS), Notre Dame University-Louaize (NDU), in celebration of Earth Day 2018, is organizing on Sunday, April 22, 2018, a “Hike to the Biosphere of Jabal Moussa.”
Meeting Point: NDU main gate (main campus)
Time: 8:00 a.m. sharp
This invitation is open to the entire NDU community as well as to the public, including the immediate community and schools neighboring NDU.
The participation fees cover transportation, entrance to the reserve, and hiking guides:
Adults: 30,000 LBP
Students: 20,000 LBP
Participants will be given the unique opportunity to get in touch with nature and will benefit from the exposure to the ecological and cultural Lebanese heritage. Participants can also enter a photography competition related to species biodiversity in Jabal Moussa.
Registration and photos must be submitted via e-mail: sciences@ndu.edu.lb, or on the Facebook group page “NDU Environmental Science Friends,” in order to attract the highest number of “likes,” followed by jury surveillance.
The Award Distribution Ceremony will take place on Thursday, April 26, 2018, at 1:00 p.m., in Friends Hall, NDU main campus.
Based on the decision of a jury, the top three photos will be showcased along with cash prizes:
- 1st Prize: $200
- 2nd Prize: $150
- 3rd Prize: $100
