Amir Ramses born in 1979 is a well know film director from Egypt. He graduated from the Higher Institute of Cinema, Academy of Arts in the year 2000, and worked as an Assistant Director with director Youssef Chahine for his films Silence we are Shooting, and Alexandria New York. His short films include: Rain (1999); Downtown (2000) winner of Best Short Fifej Tunisia and Best Short Egyptian National Film Festival, Not Like Others (2006) His documentary work includes Wailing of the Doves (2004); Averroes (2010); ALkhayyam (2010); Jews of Egypt (2012) which brought him a lot of media and public attention and won him awards as well as accolades including the Best Documentary Film at Malmo Arab Film Festival, Public Award - Arabian Sights Film Festival, Washington...; Jews of Egypt End of Journey (2014) was winner of Silver Award for Best Documentary at the Oriental Film Festival, Geneva. His work stands out – thanks to the thorough research that he puts into the subject of his films. Amir has already completed four feature films: The Edge Of The World (2006), Unpaid Bills (2007), The Code (2008) and Cairo Time (2014) that has bagged more than a dozen international awards including Best Actor for Nour Elsherif , Best screenplay and Best Director for Amir Ramses at several prestigious films festivals around the world; and Cornered (2015). Amir has also directed a popular mini Television Series Salon Shehrazade (2011) and has authored a novel Song Of Songs published in 2010. He has been invited to serve on Juries of several international film festivals and has also worked as Artistic Director for Cinemobile Film Festival, Egypt.
