International Women’s Day event

In celebration of the centennial of the International Women’s Day 2011, and under the theme: “Women Praying Together for the Well-being of their Families”, The National Evangelical Church, The Greek Orthodox Church, The Catholic Church (Afro-Asian Migration Center), Middle East Council of Churches, The Institute for Women’s Studies in the Arab World- Lebanese American University, Lebanese Emigration Research Center- Notre Dame University, Caritas Lebanon Migrant Center, Fathers & Sons for Citizenship, and World Vision Lebanon will hold an Ecumenical Worship Service at the National Evangelical Church, Downtown Beirut, on Sunday March 6, 2011 from 14:30-16:30.

The aim of the Service is to stand together with women from different backgrounds especially immigrant/refugee women, as well as Lebanese women married to foreigners to pray for the well-being of their families.

The three themes to be highlighted throughout the Service are:

  1. Women, families, and the foreigner
  2. Women, families, and the poor
  3. Women, families, and the laborer

The Service is open to everyone and will entail prayers, reading bible verses, as well as chanting hymns and songs.
