Communications Director of International Resources Group Visits LERC

Confirming the relationship between LERC and Relief International (RI), Ms. Joan Ablett, Communications Director of International Resources Group visited LERC to familiarize herself with LERC’s research infrastructure and facilities.

Ms. Ablett is a veteran in development assistance, media and government relations. She is a specialist in designing and implementing public affairs programs, international crises strategies, and media outreach.

Ms. Ablett and Director Guita Hourani discussed the importance of encouraging successful emigrants to partake in homeland development, both considering it vital to create mechanisms by which RI could reach out to the emigrants to join the development activities of their respective villages.

Ms. Ablett accompanied by Mr. Ali Hijazi, Senior Credit Officer at RI. On March 4th both Ms. Ablett and Ms. Chiraz Mougally, the Website Writer at RI, visited the Center and toured its facilities. They made a virtual tour of the Lebanese Emigration Research and Database (LEAD) and were shown round the Lebanon and Migration Museum at NDU.
