Democracy and Human Rights - POS 319

This primary aim of this course is to teach students to think critically about the political and cultural dimensions of democracy and human rights. The course focuses on different strategies of democracy and their relationship with human rights, the origins and maintenance of democracy in the modern world, and the process of democratization and its impact on state stability and on global protection of human rights.
