Principles of Semiconductor Devices - EEN 416

Fundamentals of the physical properties of semiconductors. Doping. Fermi-Dirac statistics. Generation-recombination properties of excess carriers in semiconductors. Optical absorption and luminescence. Carrier drift and diffusion. Properties of the p-n junction under forward and reverse bias. Characteristics of semiconductor devices, and advanced device issues relevant to state-of-the-art integrated-circuit technologies. Prerequisites: PHS 213, EEN 331.
