Seminar in Educational Psychology - PSL 682
This course
is a forum for students to put together
knowledge and ideas across the sub-disciplines of psychology and an impetus
for expansion of thinking. It includes but
is not limited to socio development (i.e.
issues relating to education), topics such
as role theory, attitude theory formation,
and change, transitions from home to
school, elementary to secondary, and high
school to university to work, instructional
psychology (i.e. designing, implementing,
and evaluating learning strategies and
programs from preschool to high school),
instructional decision-making (i.e. direct
and indirect approaches to interact and
help students, teachers, and families to
reduce behavioral and academic problems),
assisting students with developmental
disabilities, contemporary educational
problems and motivation, and developing
human potentials (i.e. techniques that
emphasize human relation skills, self-image,
values, and stress management).
