Data Communications and Computer Networks - CSC 425

This course gives the student the necessary background to understand existing communication systems and enable him/ her the design and the analysis of computer networks. Covered topics are: LANs, wireless technologies, packet switching, routing technologies, ISO reference model, Internet Protocols (IP, ARP/RARP, DHCP, ICMP, IGMP, TCP, UDP), throughput and delay calculation. Prerequisites: CSC 218 or CSC 312 or MIS 345 or EEN 323.
