The purpose of this course is to prepare you for managing health care organizations within an environment of cost containment and quality management of health care services. In Module II, we will focus on quality improvement since many health care facilities are turning to total quality management concepts and processes as they strive for efficiency in operations and improvement of medical care delivered. Cost containment programs will be discussed with an emphasis on supply chain management and IT driven processes. Prerequisite: HCM 401.
