Essentials of Human Disease - HEA 214

Provides students, who have little or no background in the biological sciences, with a basic understanding of the pathogenesis, signs and symptoms, diagnosis, procedures, treatment and prognosis of various common and important diseases and how to identify critical points at which such pathogenesis could either be prevented or interrupted. Infectious, nutritional, metabolic, genetic, and environmental risks and the impact of such risks on various organ systems are thoroughly examined. Students completing this course will acquire a basic understanding of technical medical terminology.
