It is an academic title conferred upon the student having the highest GPA in the graduating class. The valedictorian is the graduate who will deliver during the commencement the farewell statement on behalf of the graduating class. It is generally inspirational and its aim is to thank individuals responsible for their successes.

Upon the recommendation of the Registrar to the Vice President for Academic Affairs and the approval of the President of NDU, Fr. Walid Moussa, a new initiative was added to Commencement Ceremony 2008 where the student with the highest academic rank in every faculty will be awarded the title “valedictorian of the faculty”. Students who qualify for such a title will be notified by the Registrar and recognized individually during the Commencement.
