The commencement ceremony recognizes the academic achievements of the graduate and is considered a formal academic ceremony that should be viewed as such in dress and behavior. All graduating students participating in the Commencement must be wearing a gown, cap and tassel. Students are asked to wear clothing appropriate for the event and the weather under the gowns. A black skirt or pant and a white shirt are recommended for female graduates and a black pant, a white shirt and a necktie are recommended for male graduates. Caps and Gowns are provided by NDU. For Spring 2009 graduates only:
