Call for Papers (PDF)

Computational tools are evolving rapidly as computers are being applied to a wide variety of engineering fields and disciplines. The benefits of using computer simulations in production and research are indisputable, and involve more efficient utilization of resources and its resulting cost saving. ACTEA'16 aims at bringing together researchers and engineers, and providing a common platform for all experts dealing with computational tools to advance the state of knowledge by sharing research results and pioneering views about recent trends and developments. ACTEA’16 is the third edition in a series that started in 2009 and is being sponsored by local sections/branches of major societies operating in the country.

Engineering applications of interest include, but are not limited to:

Control & Automation
Control Systems, Mechatronics, Robotics, Computer Aided Manufacturing, Process Control, Engineering Optimization.
Electrical & Computer Technologies
Electromagnetics, Microelectronics, Power Electronics, Power System Analysis, FPGA, Semiconductor and Optoelectronic Devices, Communication and Signal processing, Cloud Computing.
Energy & Environment
Energy Technologies, Thermal and Fluid Sciences, Pollution, Traffic and Transportation Engineering, Urban Environment, Oil & Gas, Hydraulics and Hydrology.
Engineering Systems
Geotechnical/Geophysical, Structural Design, Sustainability, Materials, Mechanics, Bioengineering Systems, Mathematical Modeling, Project Management.

Location

The conference will be held at Notre Dame University in Zouk Mosbeh (18 km north of Beirut), a lovely place squeezed between the Mediterranean sea and the cavernous Jeita Grotto which is one of the most impressive subterranean displays of stalactites and stalagmites of the planet. ACTEA'16 offers the opportunity to explore Lebanon with its legendary hospitality, natural and touristic sites, and its delicious food; it is indeed a unique place to visit. The area offers some of the best of Lebanon in hotels, restaurants, shopping centers, theaters, cinemas, art galleries, and sand beaches.
