Configure Wireless Connection on I-Mate and JASJAR models

Enable the WIFI

1. Click on START
2. Scroll to SETTINGS item in the menu
3. Locate the CONNECTION tab (lower middle of the screen)
4. Locate then double click the WIRELESS icon.
5. if SSID is not equal to NDU WIFI and the WIFI STATUS shows CONNECTING… then you have to force the NDU WIFI connectivity.

• At the lower left corner of the screen there are two small icons.
• Double click on the first icon.
• A list of available Wireless connections is displayed.
• Select and keep selecting for few seconds the NDU WIFI item.
• A popup menu appears.
• Select CONNECT from popup menu.
• Press OK at the top right corner of the screen

Configure the VPN connection

6. The connection control panel window is in front of you. If not repeat steps 1, 2 and 3 above.
7. Locate the CONNECTIONS icon.
8. click ADVANCED tab lower middle of the screen.
9. click SELECT NETWORKS button.
10. in NETWORK MANAGEMENT window, select in the first dropdown list MY ISP option.
11. in NETWORK MANAGEMENT window, click on the NEW button just below the second dropdown list (entitle “Programs that automatically connect to private network should connect using:”)
12. in the GENERAL tab
• type NDU as name.
13. in the VPN tab
• type my NDU VPN as name
• type next to HOSTNAME/IP: wifi.ndu.edu.lb
• select the PPTP option
• click NEXT button in blue lower right of the screen
• type the username: (user name is your NDU Email address)
• type the password: (the password is your pincode)
• Leave the domain textbox empty.
• Click FINISH button in blue lower right of the screen
14. in the PROXY SETTINGS tab lower level of the screen
• put two check marks next to and below THIS NETWORK CONNECTS THE INTERNET.
• Type in the textbox wproxy.ndu.edu.lb
• Click ADVANCED button
• Make sure the number is 8080 next to HTTP: wproxy.ndu.edu.lb:8080 and notHTTP: wproxy.ndu.edu.lb:80.
• Press OK button
• Turn off the Wireless connection
• Turn on the wireless connection

How to use the internet  

Each time you want to connect to NDU WIFI you have to follow steps ‎15 to ‎24

15. Turn on the Wireless
16. repeat steps 1 to 3
17. the window of the CONNECTION tab shows ISP and NDU items.
18. Under the NDU item, click MANAGE VPN CONNECTIONS link.
19. click on VPN tab lower left
20. you will see MY NDU VPN (step 13-a)
21. select and keep selecting this item (step 20) for few seconds
22. a popup window appears
23. select CONNECT item from the popped up menu.
24. you will see a balloon show CONNECTING to WIFI.NDU.EDU.LB

How to make sure that you are connected

25. drag the mouse over the wireless symbol at the middle top level
26. make a single click on the symbol
27. you have to read to entries
• MY NDU VPN followed by increasing time
• NDU WIFI followed by connected
