
The main areas of interest of Sr. Benoît Abou Mhaya are the impact of nursing care on the Lebanese health system, the welfare of the elderly, and the promotion of family values. After having served on national and international committees in the said areas for 25 years, along with an active career in education, administration of schools and elderly homes for 30 years in Lebanon and abroad, as well as in the counseling and psychotherapy within daycare settings for mentally disturbed individuals and families. Sister Benoit is involved in youth and family counseling through a variety of organizations. She is at present actively engaged in upgrading the formation of hospital directors and staff nurses in leadership and management towards hospital accreditation, as well as in the supervision of research projects on socio-medical and elderly issues.
