I received by B. Sc. from the American University of Beirut and Ph. D. from McGill University, Canada. Currently I am an associate professor in the Computer Science Department at Notre Dame University. My research interests are mostly in the broad area of computer networks. I have been mostly working on two topics with possible overlap between them:
Distributed Denial of Service Attacks
I have been working on the Implicit Token Scheme method where legitimate packets are distinguished from attack packets by the presence of a token in the packet header. The main idea is that attackers using token.
Internet Routing and Traffic Engineering.
I have been investigating the use of the Border Gateway Protocol to implement traffic engineering using simple heuristics. It also turns out that some of these results can also
be used in the work on DDoS.

Ph.D. in Chemical Physics, McGill University, Canada, 1999.
