Ban Saadé was first interested in Algebra, where she did research on irredundantly generated R-modules. She later developed an interest in Computational Mathematics, obtained a degree in the subject, and used this to calculate the view factor in the cases of parallelepipeds and prisms. She started her professional career teaching Mathematics at the American University of Beirut. She then joined the UN Economic Commission for Western Asia as a researcher for two years. After that she accepted the post of Director of Administration and Seminars at the Centre for Arab Unity Studies. She then moved back to the AUB- Off Campus Program- where she held the position of Head of Personnel and simultaneously taught. After the OCP closed in 1991, she went back to a purely academic career and taught Mathematics at most of the major American Universities in Lebanon: at Haigazian University College for nine years, then back to AUB for four, and finally at NDU since 2004.
