Dr. Jajou’s field of interest is optimization problems specifically Min – Max – Separable optimization problems. The machine time - scheduling problem is an example of such problems. His early publications were about so called parametric Max- separable problems, where the R.H.S of the i-th constraint depends on the parameter t(i) . In his PhD thesis, in 1987, “under the supervision of Dr. Karel Zimmerman, Charles University ,Faculty of mathematics and physics, Prague, Czech republic “ he solved some special Max- separable optimization problems, as a machine time- scheduling problem, and derived some threshold – type algorithms to solve those problems. His recent publication is about some special Max- optimization problem that can be reformulated as a set covering problem.
