Assistant professor Youssef Yacoub started his teaching career in Saudi Arabia (1973-1981). He taught English as a second language to students who were prepared by ARAMCO to join its workforce. In Summer 1981 he joined Loyola University Chicago and accomplished the requirements of Master’s Degree in Spirituality. During the same period, he was appointed as a student counselor. In 1990, he received his Ph.D degree in Philosophy of Education with a minor in Counseling Psychology. Soon after his graduation, he became a student counselor at AL Bayan School in Kuwait. The critical political situation that took place that year made him leave Kuwait back to the USA. There he accepted an offer at Calumet College of St. Joseph, Indiana, as a Student Counselor with some teaching duties in philosophy, psychology and spirituality. In three years, he resigned from his duties to become a researcher at his Alma Mater Loyola University Chicago. The field of his research was Virtue Ethics. Meanwhile, he was an adjunct professor at Chicago State University and The Chicago Consortium for Colleges and Universities. He taught graduate courses in philosophy of education and psychology. Teaching and researching provided Dr. Yacoub with opportunities to lecture at many institutions and also to publish articles related to his field of research. By the fall of 1997-1998, he returned to his homeland, Lebanon where he taught for one year at the Lebanese University, English Department, Al Fanar. At the end of the same year, he accepted an offer at Notre Dame University-Louaize where he is currently the Student Advisor and a Psychology Professor.
