Walid SARKIS is a Clinical Psychologist, a Health Psychologist, a Groddeckian Analyst, a Counselor and a full-time Assistant Professor in Psychology at the Faculty of Humanities at NDU.
His thesis in Health Psychology and Psycho-Oncology is focused on the emotional and somatic adjustments to breast cancer and their dynamics over a period of 2 years after the revelation of the diagnosis. It importance is that it had attempted to revelate the dynamic aspect of the coping process, as well as the importance of the phenomenological perception in conative and somatic adjustments to cancer.
He had a formation in clinical psychology in the Cross Psychiatric Hospital (Lebanon), a formation in group psychotherapy (analytical perspective) under the supervision of the "Société Libanaise des Praticiens en Psychothérapie et Consultants" and a formation in cognitive and behavioral psychotherapy under the supervision of the Faculty of Medicine of the Saint Joseph University (Lebanon) and Sainte-Anne Hospital (France) at the Cross Psychiatric Hospital.
He taught many psychology courses in arabic, english and french in many academic institutions and specially at the Lebanese University.
