
Souhail Matar has been a well known faculty member at Notre Dame University since its foundation. He holds two diplomas in Arabic Literature and History from the Lebanese University-Lebanon. He was engaged in teaching for several years in different schools in Lebanon and participated in the new Academic Curricula for both Intermediate and Baccalaureate Levels.
Mr. Matar is a recognized lecturer and speaker with more than twenty five years of experience in education and higher education. He has numerous articles published in newspapers and magazines and more than twenty books of poetry, prose and in education. He was appointed advisor to different Ministers and Lebanese Presidents and President of the Arab Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers Organization (Arab-ACRAO).
He is the founder of several cultural, intellectual and social associations in Lebanon, in addition to being actively engaged in several clubs and non-political organizations. He was accorded the Said Akl Award in addition to the Knowledge Medal accorded bestow by President Amine Gemayel and the Cedar Medal conferred by President Emile Lahoud.
Mr. Matar is currently Vice-President for Cultural Affairs and Public Relations at Notre Dame University.
