Kamal G. Darouni is a Lebanese /Canadian born in 1945. He joined NDU with the rank of Assistant Professor in 1991. He initiated and contributed in the writing of the advertising and Marketing curriculum in the Faculty of Humanities and taught both the undergraduate and graduate courses. In 1992, he created the NDU Advertising Club and acted as its advisor ever since. The IAA /NDU Club  is affiliated to the  IAA world Chapter and has won many merits and awards.  In 2001, the International Advertising Association, has accredited the NDU undergraduate major of Advertising and Marketing, and was appointed as the IAA program Director.

He has 38 years of world professional experience in the field of advertising and media, where he worked in Lebanon, Kuwait, Dubai, Bahrain, KSA, Cyprus, France, England and Japan. He handled the accounts of the Japanese Advertising Agency Dentsu, in the Middle East, in his capacity as Executive Vice President of Eclair Kazan advertising agency network. He has worked as International Advertising Manager, based in the UK for the following Pan Arab Publications:  Al- Ousbou Al Arabi ,  Al Qabas and As Sayad.  Presently he is the CEO of Infomarkets network of advertising agencies for the M.E, which has affiliations in Qatar and KSA. Moreover, he is a member of the Board of Directors of DDB Levant (Advertising Agency) affiliated to DDB Europe.

He is the General Secretary of the Lebanese Advertising Agencies Association (AAA), and is a member of the International Association of Business Disciplines (IABD) USA. In 2006, he was appointed as Executive member of the consumer protection’s committee, headed by his Excellency Mr. Sami Haddad,ex-Minister of  Economy and Trade in Lebanon. He participated in many world conferences, the latest  was held in Washington in 2008, during the IAA World Education Conference, where he received two awards: The IAA NDU advertising club of the year, and the Second Rank of the World IAA Interuniversity competition . In 2009, he became Buzan Licensed instructor- UK (world affiliated member and educator). He held many workshops in advertising, marketing and social media for the AAA and IAA members (www.lebanon.mindmapworld.com). He wrote many articles in refereed and non-refereed publications and has published books on Advertising and Marketing Communications in  the  Middle East.
