Jamil El-Doaihi is interested in Arabic literature and the history of Christianity in Lebanon. One of his recent books was a biography about the Maronite Patriarch Estephan Douaihi and his saintly life. This book was published in Australia and Lebanon.
amil El-Doaihi has taught Arabic language and literature in Lebanon since 1983. He immigrated to Australia in 1988 where he taught Arabic at Saint Charbel’s Maronite College in Sydney. He has also published several literary books and articles in Arabic newspapers that concern Lebanese literature and Lebanese writers in Australia.
He uses simple methods of teaching Arabic Language to students from non-Arabic backgrounds.
As a co-researcher at Sydney University, he helped Professor Rifat Ebeid publish two manuscripts about the relations between Christianity in Cyprus and Islam in the Arab world during the ‘Inhitat’ era.
In 2004, Jamil El- Doaihi came back to Lebanon and began teaching Arabic at Notre Dame University-Louaize. He conducted numerous lectures about different aspects of Lebanese Literature.
Many articles have been published about Doaihi’s literary works in Australia and abroad.
