Amira Van Loan received both her BA in International Service with a minor in Business Administration and her MA in TESOL from the American University in Washington, D.C. She was a full-time instructor in the Department of English, Translation, and Education at NDU from 1997-2003, at the end of which time she was promoted to Lecturer. She then moved to Dubai, UAE to live and work as Human Resources Manager for the audit and consulting firm, Deloitte (formerly known as Deloitte and Touche). By 2005, she was back to lecturing, but this time at the American University in Dubai where she also held a position as Coordinator of the Intensive English Language Program. While teaching, Amira also studied and in May 2010, she received her MBA from AUD. This September, she returned to NDU to teach English again. She also coordinates the Intensive English Language program. Amira is currently an EdD candidate and she expects to receive her doctorate by 2013.
