Nicholas Bitar is an assistant professor of economics at Notre Dame University, Lebanon. He received his PhD degree in economics from University of Wisconsin Milwaukee, U.S.A. His research focuses primarily on Foreign Direct Investment and Outsourcing, trade and optimization techniques for rent seekers. His point of interest at the micro level is how to encourage competition among markets in order to attain a more efficient market and optimizing social welfare. At the macro level, he is interested in developing methods that enable policy makers to execute policies that improve distribution of income and wealth. Moreover, reducing the tax burden from poor households and develop at tax system that targets rich people.
