Mohamed Hamadeh is an associate professor of economics at Notre Dame University, Lebanon. He received his PhD degree in economics from Syracuse University, U.S.A. His research focuses primarily on local public finance, housing economics and economics of education. He is interested in topics that concern researchers and policy makers alike such as the capitalization of public services and property taxes into house values, the demand for education, estimating educational cost indexes and the efficiency of local governments. Hamadeh has also shown some interest in finance topics like studying the characteristics of risky stocks during negative swings. In addition to his teaching and research duties, Hamadeh has fulfilled consulting assignments sponsored by the World Bank, the Lebanese Ministry of Social Affairs and the Lebanese Ministry of Education and Higher Education.
