Focusing on the power of the photograph and its role in shaping our vision of the world around us, Noel Nasr combines teaching and practice. Graduating with distinction from the University of Kent in 2006, he has been teaching at Notre Dame University since 2007.
Designing a framework with proper conditions that allows students to learn and explore through trial and error, practicing, developing and perfecting through a process of research, experimentation and sharing, based on the individual needs, visions and abilities of each, are the basis of his teaching philosophy.
In 2001, he set up and co-directed Grayscale, a company that specialized mainly in fashion and advertising photography.
Winner of the Kodak inter-university prize in 1996, he has presented his work in various exhibitions, both locally and internationally.
Noel’s research interest lies in the aftermath of war and its representation in relation to national identity, history and memory.
