Note from the Dean

It is my pleasure to welcome existing and incoming students, Faculty and staff to this new academic year 2018-2019 at the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics (FBAE). I join you at a time of great expectation at Notre-Dame University with new and renewed leadership, with a strong sense of purpose and dedication to the “pursuit of excellence”.

The FBAE has long had a solid tradition of graduating students at the bachelor’s and master’s levels, who have joined the ranks of major firms and organizations in Lebanon and abroad, and achieved strong recognition and career advancement. The success of our alumni is a testament to the relevance and solid foundations of our Programs, in 1) providing a well-balanced comprehensive set of courses and training in the major disciplines of the FBAE, and 2) allowing students to deepen their knowledge in select areas of specialization such as Corporate Finance and Accounting, Financial risk management, economics, general and marketing management, hospitality and tourism management, project management and international business strategy where NDU’s FBAE has established itself as the Faculty of choice for students seeking higher education options in  business and economics.

As we take stock of our core competencies and successes, we remain focused on the continuous advancement of the FBAE in new strategic areas, that will keep our students at the forefront of business education, in the age of the internet. New strategic areas include artificial intelligence and advanced manufacturing, multi-disciplinary education, and disruptive technologies, to name a few of the evolutions of the 21st century which will impact education in business and other disciplines. As new knowledge increasingly crosses and transcends single disciplines, the innovative development and expansion of programs that cut across traditional disciplines will establish FBAE and NDU’s leadership among the premier universities of Lebanon, the Middle East and beyond.

I close by wishing you all, the FBAE and NDU community at large, a blessed and successful new academic year 2017-2018. Together, we will make this year a memorable one for its rededicated commitment to the highest standards of learning, and for charting an ever brighter course forward.
