The only Lebanese University adopting the American Model of Higher Education to be accredited by NECHE, formerly CIHE-NEASC
Notre Dame University-Louaize (NDU), Lebanon’s preeminent non-profit Catholic institution of higher education and the sole Lebanese university that adopts the American model of liberal arts education, is pleased to announce that it has been accredited by the New England Commission for Higher Education (NECHE) previously known as the Commission on Institutions of Higher Education (CIHE) of the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Inc. (NEASC).
The NECHE (formerly CIHE-NEASC), founded in 1885 and recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, is the oldest and most respected regional accrediting association in the U.S. that continues to develop and regularly review standards for educational institutions across the board.
A comprehensive evaluation visit in April 2018 by the Commission’s Visiting Team officially secured NDU’s initial accreditation, automatically placing the University among the top universities in Lebanon and abroad. Currently the NECHE accredits 241 colleges and universities in the New England region, such as Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Boston University, Tufts University as well as 12 institutions overseas.
Today, NDU has joined this prominent list of universities.
After embarking on the rigorous accreditation process stages, NDU has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to encourage its students to grow inward, outward, and upward by offering them exceptional education, exceptional value, and exceptional support while inspiring them to be truly exceptional.
Accreditation status confirms that NDU meets the strict standards set by the NECHE.
